Friday 11 July 2025
Join the Friends of the Gallery on a bus trip to Lismore to view the Archibald Prize 2024 exhibition at the Lismore Regional Gallery. The Gallery café will be open for lunch or you may wish to explore Lismore’s other option or bring a picnic lunch. After lunch we will also visit the Serpentine Community Gallery – a full day of outstanding art.
The bus will depart the Tweed Gallery at 9am returning approx. 4pm
Price: $55 (includes entrance to the Archibald Prize 2024 exhibition.

SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS ART DISCOVERY TOUR

We are pleased to announce a very special tour to the Southern Highlands visiting Ben Quilty in his studio, the Ngununggula Gallery in Bowral and a day trip to the Bundanon Art Museum – home to the legacy of Arthur Boyd, including a private tour of the homestead and Boyd’s studio.
ITINERARY
Tuesday 25 November – Arrival in the Southern Highlands.
The group will depart from Gold Coast Airport on a morning flight to Sydney, where a private transfer will take us to our accommodation – The Springs Mittagong. After settling in, you may want to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the town centre, discovering boutique stores and antique shops.
Wednesday 26 November – Exploring Bowral & Mittagong.
The morning will be dedicated to visiting Ngununggula Art Gallery in Bowral where we will enjoy a guided tour of the Clarice Beckett exhibition.
After which you will be free to check out Bowral, the cultural heart of the Highlands, known for its vibrant arts community and elegant charm.
We will then head back to Mittagong for the highlight of our tour a visit with Ben Quilty in his studio – such a wonderful opportunity to meet Ben and hear about his artistic journey.
Thursday 27 November – Full Day Excursion to Bundanon Art Museum.
The group will embark on a full-day excursion to the renowned Bundanon Art Museum, situated on the Shoalhaven River. Bundanon is one of Australia's most significant cultural institutions. It was gifted to the Australian people by iconic artist Arthur Boyd and his family in 1993.
During the visit, guests will have time to explore the striking new art museum and its permanent collection, as well as a private tour of the homestead and Arthur Boyd’s studio.
Lunch is included today.
The group will return to Mittagong in the late afternoon.
Friday 28 November – Departure.
On the final morning, guests will enjoy their last few moments in Mittagong and check out of the accommodation. A group transfer will take us from Bowral to Sydney Airport for our return flight to the Gold Coast (OOL).
